In the heart of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, a granite quarry where nearly 2,500 people, men, women and children, work in Dantesque conditions to find the scarce resources that allow them to survive on a daily basis.
But in 2014, the revolution went through there and blew on the spirits, a wind of emancipation and hope. A certain audacity …
And now the miners envision a better future by freeing themselves from the yoke of intermediaries to sell the fruit of their labor directly. The film is a dive into the lives of these miners, in the unexpected tenderness as much as in the depth of soul and reflection they demonstrate.
