In the provinces of Sierra Leone domestic abuse against women is high. . The law protects but culture does not, women are regarded as a man’s property. Filmmaker Susan Kargbo follows Hawa Jalloh, herself an survivor of abuse and the first woman in the region to successfully prosecute her husband for abuse, as she goes round the village trying to raise awareness of women’s rights.
