The 6 th Edition of Mashariki African Film Festival: “Kagire Inkuru”

Kagire Inkuru is a very common phrase that is used when one is eager to hear their interlocutor’s story. Etymologically “Kagire” means have and “Inkuru” means stories, but in approximation, it means “tell me”. Kagire inkuru, is a perfect fit for all the past themes of the festival.
The 6th edition will look towards being fully rooted in the culture Maaff exhibits, the choice of the Kinyarwanda language and a common phrase is meant to emphasize the telling of our own stories as Africans in our way using the cinematic language as ours.
